The group works together to help each student create the tallest stack of milk crates while standing on top. Each person has a different role. Our ‘Flying Fox’ or zip line travels across a valley for 120 metres. This fast and fun based adventure activity is used as a rotational activity in an outdoor education program. Golden Valleys Lodge Staff must also supervise this. activity
For the ultimate challenge you can swing over a valley. After being harnessed, the rest of the group pulls the camper to the height he/she wishes to swing. Using the philosophy of “challenge by choice”, the participant releases a ripcord at the height he/she feels comfortable. Many guests have to overcome their fear of heights, free falling and speed. Golden Valleys Lodge Staff must also supervise this activity.
The Low Ropes Course challenges each participant. The course features a fourteen-element course that will push campers to use different skills as they navigate around the course.
This requires ten to fifteen participants to work together to complete the activity. Team building introduces the concepts of team building, trust and communication. We have a variety of stations available and suitable for grade 3 students up.
This requires ten to fifteen participants to work together to carry an object or ‘body’ across a challenging obstacle course. The obstacle course can used to develop team building, critical thinking and problem solving. Different objects also allow all ages to participate.
An introduction in riding a mountain bike in rugged terrain. Campers will be able to practice their bike riding skills across a variety of obstacles in a specially designed mountain bike arena. Furthermore, bikes and helmets are provided by Golden Valleys Lodge.
The basic concepts of the ancient sport of archery. Archery is inside and can therefore be done in any weather.. Six targets are available at all times. We also supply all equipment.
